North Yorkshire Water Park on the doorstep

The North Yorkshire Water Park is just a short walk from our caravan and camping site. It will delight the whole family, from toddlers to thrill seekers. Enjoy the zip line, climbing wall and wakeboarding. Plus kayaks, pedalos, mini electric boats, paddle boards, sailing, windsurfing, Saturday Park Runs and open water swimming. Or chill out at their lakeside café.

Its AquaPark is the real star of the show though, as it’s packed with inflatable obstacle courses. There are climbing walls, trampolines, balance bars, rockers, rollers and blast bags. Jump, climb and swim to your heart’s content!

Wykeham Fishing Lakes

Love to fish? Wykeham Fishing Lakes lie next to the North Yorkshire Water Park. With four fresh water lakes, it’s an ideal spot for trout fishing and a variety of course fishing. The lakes are home to the largest pike in England.

The Cleveland Way

The North York Moors National Park is home to the nation's favourite National Trail, the Cleveland Way. Experience fantastic National Park scenery on this classic 9-day walk, all the way from the market town of Helmsley, on the edge of the North York Moors, to the coast at Filey. The 109 mile (176km) route meanders through dramatic coastline and heather moorland, whilst offering amazing views of castles, ruined abbeys, ancient stone crosses and fishing villages tucked into tiny coves, it really does have it all!

Castle Howard

Castle Howard has been home to the Howard family for more than 300 years. Explore iconic architecture and beautiful interiors when you visit the House, including the Great Hall which rises 70 feet into the air. The House is open from Spring to October, and is dressed for Christmas from November to January. The Gardens and Grounds at Castle Howard include lakes, follies, woodland, temples, and statues - all of which bring out the colour and drama of the four seasons. The Gardens are open daily (excluding the Walled Garden), and are dog-friendly.

Step back in time and experience the sights, sounds and smells of the Home Front and Front Line throughout the Second World War at Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum! Located within an original Prisoner of War Camp built in 1942 by its own Italian prisoners, the Camp appeals to everyone, young and old, including groups and schools. Scarborough Castle

With its stunning location, fascinating history and panoramic views over the coast, Scarborough Castle is one of North Yorkshire’s finest historic sites. This once-mighty fortress has endured attacks from Vikings, medieval barons, Tudor rebels and a Parliamentary army during an epic Civil War siege.

Today you can explore the castle’s majestic ruins, follow the long curtain wall with its many towers and climb viewing platforms in the Inner Bailey and the 12th-century Great Tower. Set on a 16-acre headland home to wildflowers and wildlife, it’s the perfect place for a family-friendly adventure in the fresh air.

Flamingo Land

If you are looking for white knuckle thrills, there is a sensational collection of 8 extreme rides, including the latest roller coaster Hero that puts visitors in a superhero flying position before swooping them around a track. There is also the Guinness World Record Breaking Mumbo Jumbo, with the steepest drop (2009).

In addition there is a great choice of junior and family rides. All the attractions in Dino-Stone Park have a dinosaur theme. Soar 45 metres into the air on the Pterodactyl swing, spin on the family coaster Twistosaurus and pedal on Cyclosaur. See animatronic dinosaurs, life-size Dino skeletons and search for dinosaur bones in the Dino Dig sand. Flamingo Land is one of the UK’s most visited zoos (Source: Visit England). With 140 species of reptiles, mammals and birds, you can enjoy an amazing view of the animal kingdom. A variety of Keeper Talks and a sea lion and bird show are included within your admission. For unrestricted views, meander through the lemur, wallaby and rainbow lorikeet walkways.
